The reason this pen is called the Presidential Pen is not because it is much larger than a normal pen, but because it is a special version made to commemorate John F. Kennedy - the youngest politician ever elected President of the United States and also the only Pulitzer Prize-winning President of the United States.
The pen comes in several color versions, but blue is the official version used, which is reminiscent of his career in the US Navy before becoming a soldier.The three circles in the middle of the pen represent the three brothers of the Kennedy family. In this version, the pen's tail is designed by Montblanc to be removable so that the user can change the pen refill, instead of the traditional design in the handle cluster.
