The Montblanc Great Characters Walt Disney Special Edition pen was exclusively designed by Montblanc to honor the great American animator and businessman Walt Disney.
The image of Mickey Mouse was chosen as the main highlight of the pen. The cartoon character has been associated with the childhood of many children around the world until now. Mickey is not only the symbol that made this talented film producer successful but also the first image that comes to our mind when mentioning Walt Disney.
Apart from the main material of the pen being Montblanc’s signature precious resin, the rest of the parts are made of platinum-coated steel. The red, yellow, and black colors on the pen are the main colors of the “Steamboat Willy” poster – this is the first episode about Mickey Mouse released in 1920.
The lines along the body of the pen are inspired by the Monorail – the rail system for public transportation found throughout Disneyland. The 3D face of Mickey Mouse interwoven with images appearing and disappearing all over the body of the pen, making the main character more vivid than ever.
Like other special editions, Walt Disney's signature is engraved very delicately and beautifully on the tip of the pen. If you look carefully, you will find the number 118.°17'29.073'' – these are the coordinates that take you to the place where Walt Disney created his first animated shorts.
The Montblanc pen you see in the picture is a new ballpoint version in a box, very suitable as a gift or for collection.
