As the second edition that Montblanc took the theme from the novel “Around The World in 80 Days” by the French author Jules Verne – a great science fiction writer, the pen editions you are seeing tell the story of the second leg from Bombay to Yokohama of the main characters – Mr. Fogg’s group in the story.
Still using the familiar resin material, Montblanc has changed the color from black to dark gray, which is also the color representing the scene where Mr. Fogg and his team rescue Princess Aouda from the sacrificial pyre before her husband's funeral.
The large and sturdy elephant detail is realistically engraved on the lid of the classic version, symbolizing the main means of transport that the group of characters used to cross the treacherous Indian jungle. Montblanc also did the same with the previous version, when They engraved an image of the steamer that Mr. Fogg used to cross the Suez Canal on the cap of the pen.
If the black spade is engraved on the platinum clip of the blue Around The World in 80 Days version, this time Montblanc used red diamonds made from precious lacquer for the end of the clip, and at the end of the pen, the patterns of each card are also sharply engraved, symbolizing Mr. Fogg's bet, which is also the main reason why he joined this 80-day and night journey.
The two versions of the pen are a duo of a rollerball and a water ball in Montblanc's latest collection, luxurious and containing values from the extremely progressive novel, priced at 15,680,000 VND and 16,680,000 VND respectively.
