Jules Gabriel Verne is a famous French writer, a pioneer in the Science Fiction genre and is considered one of the founders of this genre. In this Collection, Montblanc draws directly from the details of the first leg of the novel “Around The World in 80 Days” from London to Bombay via the Suez Canal. The main means of transport for the main characters is a steamship, engraved on the side of the pen cap.
The Suez Canal is also clearly represented in the blue lacquer color of this pen, while the patterns on the pen body also represent the undulating waves created by the steamship.
The black spade card is crafted from lacquer on the pen clip, as are the other cards engraved on the pen pattern, also taken from details in the novel – the bet that created this 80-day journey.
