Montblanc Venetian Carnival – Pulcinella Annual Edition 2007- 300 Pieces is an extremely rare pen version, as this pen model was only produced in 2007 with a limit of only 300 pieces worldwide. Five in the Montblanc Annual Limited Edition collection with 3 different themes, and this pen version is in the 2nd theme “Venice Carnival”.
“Venice Carnival” is also known as the most lavish carnival in Italy, taking place every February in spring. When coming to this festival, you will be immersed in an extremely special cultural and artistic space, with unique costumes, traditional masks of Italian nobility, street parties and jubilant concerts.
Montblanc used extremely clever materials, they took famous characters from plays and novels that took place during this festival and used them to paint the limited edition pen you see here. The main character painted on the precious Meissen porcelain of the pen is the clown “Pulcinella”. With his hands on his hips, his big belly protruding forward, wearing a black half-mask, a ruffled collar and bow-tie shoes, Pulcinella appears in a colorful outfit. The image of the clown Pulcinella was designed by Maurice Sands – a French writer, artist and entomologist.
The Carnival of Venice is a very interesting theme that Montblanc has used on the Montblanc Annual Limited Edition pen line along with two other themes: “Classical Mythology” and “Mythical Creatures”. Each year for 10 years from 2003 to 2012, Montblanc launched 3 different versions of the pen, and the version with the clown Pulcinella was the second version in 2007.
