Just as Pavarotti wore a black tuxedo with a white bow tie and shirt on stage, the Limited Edition 4810 comes in black and white lacquer. This is a version of the pen that Montblanc created to honor Luciano Pavarotti – an opera singer with a distinctive tenor voice.
The delicate patterns on the red lacquered end of the pen, as well as the turquoise cabochon at the bottom of the pen, are reminiscent of the colorful Hawaiian shirts that Pavarotti often wore as a cap.
The oriental influence found in his music is also reflected in the black and white lacquer dragon with garnet red eyes that decorates the pen cap. The five circles represent the five famous operas that Pavarotti performed successfully all over the world: “Turandot”, “La Bohème”, “Rigoletto”, “Un ballo in maschera” and “L'Elisir d'amore”. At the same time, these five circles also represent the five floors of the opera house “Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti” in his hometown of Modena, Italy, which is named after him.
