In tribute to world-famous author Agatha Christie and her 1934 novel “Murder on the Orient Express,” Montblanc has launched the High Artistry Montblanc Journey on the Orient Express Limited Edition Collection, and the version you see here is a limited edition of 333 pens worldwide.
As it travels through the valleys and plains of Europe, the Orient Express stands out thanks to the striking color combination of midnight blue, ivory and gold on the exterior of its luxury cars. This distinctive look is echoed in the color scheme of the cap and barrel of the Montblanc High Artistry A Journey on the Orient Express Limited Edition 333, combining translucent blue lacquer with solid Au 750 gold for the accessories and the outer frame of the pen, with a striking yet intricate rhodium plating.
The tip of the pen is adorned with the Montblanc crest in mother-of-pearl embedded in black onyx. The ivory lacquer inlay on the bonnet evokes the ivory stripes on the sides of the car. The pen’s tail is decorated with the route the Orient Express took in 1930, at the height of its Art Deco legend and glamour. The signature Au 750 gold is embellished with a replica of a small bouquet of flowers on the nib.
