The 'Orient Express' was a train that operated between Paris and Istanbul from 1883 to 1977. This icon of stylish rail travel is the inspiration for the Montblanc High Artistry A Journey on the Orient Express Limited Edition 1883.
And the pen you see here is inspired by the comfort and splendor of the blue train, which has become an icon of travel culture. Every detail is a testament to the Art Deco style and only the most famous designers and craftsmen were recruited to decorate the compartments.
The engraving on the cap is inspired by René Prou's exquisite mosaic designs. The small bouquet engraved on the solid Au 750 gold nib is based on another design taken from Prou's various mosaic works.
The Orient Express has always taken passengers to their destination in style and comfort. Honoring that tradition, this collection ensures a luxurious writing experience that includes a blue inkwell to complement the blue plastic of the fountain pen as well as an ivory notebook with decorative details that resemble the cap of the writing instrument.
