The Montblanc High Artistry A Journey on the Orient Express Limited Edition 1 pays homage to the original Orient Express locomotive engulfed in flames. The limited edition of just 83 pieces honors the iconic date of October 4, 1883, when the Orient Express first sailed.
Crafted from a structured black lacquer, the cap and barrel design echo the iron of a steam engine. The frame is plated in signature Au 750 gold, partly rhodiumed and decorated with sapphires, representing the wheels and side rails of the Orient Express. This creates a reflection of the inner workings of the engine. The cap features a unique snap mechanism and the Montblanc logo is crafted in shimmering mother-of-pearl.
The high-end aesthetic of the train interior is reflected in the dark blue, ivory and gold accents that decorate the cap and tail of this limited edition pen. The cap features the words “Vitesse limité” and “140km/h” engraved, symbolizing the top speed of the engine.
The pen features a signature Au 750 gold “hidden” clip, decorated with white pearl lacquer and a round blue sapphire. The clip is cleverly attached to the cap and operates on a tilt mechanism. In addition, the front of the pen features a laser-engraved Au 750 signature and recalls the imposing iron structure of the Gare de Lyon.
