The aesthetic of the Montblanc High Artistry Orient Express Limited Edition 1 with Case matches the splendor and legend of the luxury train that connects the West and Asia – the Orient Express. Crafted from solid Au 750 gold, this gem-set pen brings to life René Prou’s famous artistry with diamonds set in an Art Deco-inspired pattern around the cap and barrel.
True to the name Montblanc has given to the only one in the world, the Limited 1 with Case edition is housed in an impressive wooden box. Reminiscent of the original train panels and cabinets designed by artist René Prou. The pen itself is crafted from solid gold, also decorated with patterns reminiscent of the interior of the Orient Express.
Representing the romance of the more than 3,000 km journey that Orient Express passengers enjoyed in expensive luxury, the historic routes from 1930 are depicted in diamonds, rubies and blue sapphires on the signature Au 750 gold fore-end. The crown-like tip of the pen is a magnificent blue sapphire.
The handcrafted Au 750 solid gold nib features a nostalgic engraving of a steam engine set with a brilliant-cut diamond. From the intricate shutter mechanism that opens at the push of a button, paying homage to the machinery that operated in a train engine – to the bespoke case with its intricate mechanical features, every detail speaks of the beauty and artistry of traditional craftsmanship.
