High Artistry A Tribute to the Great Wall Limited Edition 88 pens pay tribute to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World – the Great Wall of China under the Qin Dynasty. Crafted from solid white gold, this Montblanc pen borrows elements from the armor of Qin Dynasty warriors. The rough surface of this version recalls the typical surfaces of bronze artworks crafted during that era.
The overall shape of this pen is reminiscent of the large calligraphy brush used in ancient calligraphy, which Montblanc has emphasized and made particularly clear. The pen's tail is hand-lacquered to reflect the look of a calligraphy brush. The cap is also decorated with an inkwell containing the Montblanc emblem in white Teflon.
The clip is made from solid white gold with a black PVD coating and Chinese symbols and red lacquer inlays. It is reminiscent of the narrow strips of bamboo used by scribes to write or draw. The nib is also made from solid Au 750 white gold and features a 3D relief decoration depicting the Great Wall of China.
