Combining the art of penmaking with the art of great paintings, Montblanc Masters of Art creates the first collection to honor the great painter Vincent van Gogh – who defined a new era in modern art. In deep homage, this collection of five limited edition pens pays tribute to the important personal and artistic stages of the artist’s life.
The limited edition 4810 pays tribute to Van Gogh’s final years in Arles, in the South of France. The yellow of the Provençal light that characterizes much of his work, the pen reproduces the 1889 painting “Ricefield with the Harvester” with a joyful and brilliant touch.
With the limited edition 888, Montblanc recalls the artist’s time in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and Auvers-sur-Oise, and the painting he made in 1890 – “Ricefield with Crows”. The entire movement of Van Gogh’s painting is perfectly reproduced in this pen, the crows flying over the beautiful golden fields.
The 161 edition includes several of Montblanc’s paintings, most notably “Roots” painted in 1890. The cap references “Rice Fields and Cypresses” – a black and white painting. In many editions, Montblanc has perfectly displayed the entire barrel of the pen.
Next up is the limited edition 90, reproducing one of his most famous paintings – “Harvest”, the pen does an excellent job of showcasing the artist’s mastery of mural painting, in which broad strokes of thick paint are applied across the design of the entire pen body.
And finally, the version with only 8 pieces in the world, based on the legendary painting that everyone has heard of at least once - "Starry Night". As the most premium version of the Collection, it is also the version that Montblanc devoted all its heart to almost perfectly recreating Van Gogh's great painting, along with the most premium materials that are difficult for any brand to imitate.
