Montblanc Annual Limited Edition is a collection of pens released annually by Montblanc from 2003 to 2012. A collection for those extremely knowledgeable about Montblanc pens, ceramics and the mysteries of the legendary world.
Made from white Meissen porcelain and hand-painted by artists, this collection will launch 3 versions each year with 3 themes: "Classical Mythology", "Venice Carnival" and "Mythical Creatures". What's special is that each pen version is produced in extremely limited quantities, only 300 pieces worldwide. For that reason, the pens in this collection are always extremely rare and are eagerly sought after by Montblanc fountain pen collectors.
Meissen porcelain is considered one of the leading brands in the art of ceramic production in the world for many centuries. With a history of 300 years of development, Meissen porcelain is considered a product line with the purest white color, fireproof and transparent, and has a manufacturing formula that no one else can copy.
All Montblanc Annual Limited Edition pens are made from the finest Meissen porcelain, highlighted by the blue crossed swords emblem – the symbol of Meissen porcelain. This is accompanied by the production order and year, along with the words “Limited to 300”. Each porcelain cap is unique and irreplaceable.
Montblanc Venetian Carnival Fountain Pen – Pulcinella Annual Edition 2007 – 300 Pieces, is the second version of the collection produced in 2007, also the 14th version of the total 30 versions of the pen during the 10 years this pen model was produced.
This pen model is themed “Carnival of Venice” (This festival originated in Italy, famous worldwide for its investment in elaborate costumes and masks.) with the main character hand-painted on porcelain as the clown “Pulcinella”. With his hands on his hips, his big belly protruding forward, wearing a black half-mask, a ruffled collar and bow-tied shoes, Pulcinella appears in a colorful costume. The image of the clown Pulcinella was designed by Maurice Sands – a French writer, artist and entomologist.
The lower body of this pen is gold-plated and uses a guilloche stripe pattern. The pen nib is completely crafted from 18K gold, maintaining the monotone color that was only commonly seen in Montblanc fountain pens in the 70s and 80s.
This Montblanc Annual Edition is a celebration of the world's history, mythology and imagination, and is the pinnacle of Montblanc pen collectors.
