Launched in 1996, the Montblanc Alexandre Dumas Writers Edition Limited is quite an interesting pen both because of the story behind it and because of the design of this pen.
Alexandre Dumas was a writer who was very famous for his works and so was his son. Both of them used the same name when they created their great works, and that led to the confusion of Montblanc when engraving the father's signature on the pen model honoring him.
In the version you see, the pen bears the father's correct signature, corrected from the previous version that mistakenly engraved Dumas Jr.'s name.
The pen is designed with great sophistication, with meticulously carved details crafted from gold-plated metal, the lower body is crafted from a block of material that looks like stone, but it sparkles similar to mother-of-pearl on lacquer paintings.
The pen is a limited edition trackball and is available in store in brand new box condition.
