Launched in 1997 with a limited edition of only 7,000 pens worldwide, the pen pictured here is one of four versions of the Writers Edition collection launched to honor the famous Russian writer Fiodor Dostoevsky. Along with Lev Tolstoy, Dostoevsky is considered one of the two great Russian writers of the 19th century.
The Montblanc Dostoevsky pen is truly a work of art with so many intricate and sophisticated details. The entire body of the pen is engraved with Russian-style motifs with a skillful combination of Montblanc's signature jet-black precious resin and sophisticated gold-plated decorative rings. The clip is decorated with a beautiful and impressive blue dragon eye gem. Unlike most regular Montblanc pens, the Dostoevsky uses a Legrand pen refill, which provides twice the ink usage time of the traditional Rollerball line, while its weight also makes the pen feel quite solid and sturdy in the hand.
Although it was launched exactly 21 years ago, the pen currently available at Butchinhhang.com is a pen kept by the previous owner in brand new condition with the box intact. This is truly a very beautiful Montblanc pen, very rare to collect.
