Not only for pen collecting, but also for watch collecting, model racing cars… carbon fiber is always a material to symbolize a certain high-end product line. The two pens in the picture are given quite simple names: Starwalker Carbon, it is a combination of two materials considered the most expensive to make this product line: Platinum-plated stainless steel and thousands of carbon fibers interwoven together to create a product surface that looks quite sophisticated and strong. Looking at the picture, you can see the clear distinction of the price segment that Montblanc decided for this pen. Every detail is meticulously crafted to the smallest detail. The pen is a version fountain pen, fuse Yellow 14K Platinum plated, multi-purpose size M.
Carbon fibers are always used for extremely high-end products, harder than steel, yet light and durable, which is why this is an ideal material in countless different fields.
Montblanc also applies Carbon fiber to its Starwalker Carbon Doué Fountain Pen 109341 model, clearly defining the price segment that the company has decided for this pen. From the expensive material combining platinum-plated stainless steel, Carbon fiber covered with transparent lacquer and finally the valuable 14K gold nib, this pen is created under the artistic and meticulous hands of artisans, clearly affirming the weight both literally and figuratively of the pen.
It is quite interesting that in this Doue version, the company uses platinum plating on its metal details, but in the full Carbon version, the company chooses black-gray ruthenium. Although there are some differences, both clearly show their beauty and class.
The pen is a fountain pen version, 14K gold nib size M.
