The special edition Montblanc pen you see in the picture is a line of pens launched by Montblanc to honor Andy Warhol, a Rusyn-born American artist famous for pop art (Pop Art). He had a successful career as a commercial illustrator. Many of his works are highly sought after by collectors and are highly valuable. The highest price ever paid for a Warhol painting was $105 million for a 1963 painting titled “Silver Car Crash (Double Disaster).”
The main image used to illustrate this Montblanc pen is a soup can taken from the “Campbell's Soup Can” series, a very famous series of artworks launched from November 1961 to March or April 1962 by Andy Warhol. The dollar sign engraved on the pen nib is also an image taken from the “Dollar Sign” series created by him around 1981. The pen uses a rather unique cobalt blue and orange color scheme, combined with the slightly “oversized” design of the pen cap, which somewhat shows the personality and difference in Andy Warhol's artistic approach.
