As the name “Solitaire Calligraphy Gold Leaf” suggests, the pen you see in the picture is meticulously hand-painted by Montblanc artisans with thin gold leafs on the jet-black steel body. It is then covered with a layer of lacquer to protect the work that took them hours to complete.

Montblanc was very sophisticated when using a completely black PVD coating for almost the entire thing from the lapel clip, the pen handle to the ring in the middle of the pen body... Simply because Montblanc wanted the color of gold, the patterns randomly created by the hand-plating process to make it stand out in the hands of the owner.

The pen is a water ballpoint version available in store in brand new condition.
