Homer was one of the greatest poets of ancient Greece. According to legend, he was blind and a talented troubadour. The fundamental influence of Homeric epics on the formation of Greek culture has been widely acknowledged, and Homer has been described as the teacher of Greece.
Montblanc has also launched the Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Homer pen line to honor this ancient Greek church, inspired by the great Trojan War.
The overall shape is inspired by a wooden horse in battle, with the back and clip representing a spear. The engraving on the pen's tail and ring borrows motifs from traditional Greek black-figured pottery, with the overall colour of the writing instrument inspired by this same Greek black pottery.
