The 2022 Montblanc Patron of Art Edition is dedicated to Queen Victoria & Prince Albert. The Limited Edition 888 is a very interesting pair of watches, one honoring Queen Victoria and the other Prince Albert. The Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Albert Limited Edition 888 pays tribute to Prince Albert and his great achievements.
The pen comes with a cap and barrel made from translucent grey lacquer and a signature 18K gold barrel coating. The barrel is inspired by the Crystal Palace that Albert built and where he hosted the “Great Exhibition” in 1851. The grey is a tribute to the tartan fabric that Albert created himself for Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
The metal fittings are platinum-plated. The shape of the pen clip is a tribute to his wife’s scepter and is decorated with a red garnet. The top of the pen is inspired by the dome of the Crystal Palace and is decorated with the Montblanc emblem made of mother-of-pearl. The ring on the cap is engraved with “Albert” and their wedding date, like a wedding ring, while a special engraving decorates the pen’s tail.
As an homage to his personal coat of arms, the handcrafted 18K solid gold nib features a raised pattern inspired by the coat of arms of Saxony.
