Peggy Guggenheim was an American art collector who collected art primarily in Europe and America from 1938 to 1946. Her art collection is displayed on the Grand Canal in Venice, where she settled, lived and collected art for the rest of her life. Montblanc has released the Montblanc Peggy Guggenheim Limited Edition to honor Peggy Guggenheim and her life.

The linear design of the clip and cap, as well as the black lacquer inlaid lines and shapes on the cap and platinum-coated barrel, were inspired by the Art Deco works in her collection.

The red lacquered spiral inlay at the end of the pen represents the striped mooring posts that line the waterways of Venice. The embossed lion head on the cap rim refers to Peggy Guggenheim’s Venetian palace, Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, as well as the lion of Saint Mark, the symbol of Venice.
