This edition of Great Characters pays tribute to one of the most influential and revolutionary jazz musicians of all time – Miles Dewey Davis. Not only was he a brilliant trumpet player, Miles was also a pioneer in almost every phase of American jazz development after World War II.
The overall shape of the Limited Edition 1926 reflects the trumpet, emphasized by the trumpet finger buttons on the clip. The unique, delicate engraving on the barrel is inspired by the major developments in post-World War II American Jazz, which influenced Miles Davis throughout his career.
The blue end of the pen is a nod to Miles Davis’s jazz album, “Kind of Blue,” which is widely considered to be the greatest album of all time. The shape of the end of the pen is inspired by the distinctive “Heim” mouthpiece. The nib is engraved with the artist’s silhouette and the limited edition number 1926 represents Miles’ birth year.
