The pen is beautiful not only because of its appearance, but also because of the story and meaning behind it. The Starwalker BlackCosmos version still has the usual shape of the Starwalker series, now exploiting a seemingly endless space, which is the vast universe.
In previous versions, Montblanc often focused more on people and the earth, but now the company uses the black of the universe as the main color for this BlackCosmos pen line. The entire pen body is crafted from glossy black precious resin, with the highlight being the hemispherical space that has now turned gray-black instead of the previous blue. To make the pen model more uniform, the metal details are also plated with black PVD instead of the usual bright plated colors. This is also the way Montblanc describes a vast universe, where people are still gradually discovering every day.
